Tammy Lynn Cowley

Tammy Lynn Cowley, born on November 29, 1971, in Homestead, Florida, passed away peacefully at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee surrounded by loved ones. She was a woman of unwavering spirit and deep affection for the simple joys of life. Known affectionately as "Gigi" by her grandchildren and "Mama" by the rest, Tammy is survived by her mother Claudia Johnson, beloved partner, Tony Thompson; her cherished daughters, Emily (Blake) Henson and Lauren (Adam) Laws, and her son Lynnwood (Bailey) Thompson. She also leaves behind her devoted brothers, Dean (Jecinda) Johnson and Buster Slaughter; her loving sister, Leah Halloway; her treasured grandchildren, Kason Cates, Chandler Laws, and Maklynn Henson; and her dear nieces, Hannah Long, and Julia Johnson.

Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Malcomb Slaughter, and her sister, Gina Woodard.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Tammy found solace and happiness in the embrace of nature, whether it was basking on the beach, drifting along the river, or camping under the stars. Her passion for animals defined much of her life, as she dedicated 24 years to dog grooming. Her heart extended to all creatures, including the nine chickens and four roosters that, though not her own, would visit her regularly.

Tammy found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was savoring the scenic beauty of Amish country during tranquil rides or indulging in her fondness for Sundrop, a cherished drink she was seldom seen without. But above all, it was her family—her beloved girls, Tony, and her grandchildren—that she held most dear. They were the center of her world, and her love for them knew no bounds. Tammy's warmth, her love for nature and animals, and her boundless love and devotion to her family will forever be remembered and cherished.
