Sydney Pearl Thomas

Sydney Pearl Thomas, age 93, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

Sydney was born on August 5, 1923 in Maury County to Sidney Adams and Sally Taylor Adams. She was the widow of Wayne Thomas who passed away on August 19, 2010. They were happily married for over 64 years. She was a retiree of Farm Bureau and a member of Zion Presbyterian Church. She was a very sweet sister, who was always willing to help others. She never fussed or argued.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her sisters: Betty (Larry) Drumwright of Columbia, Barbara (Bob) Hunt of Nashville and Evelyn Lovett of Columbia; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Sidney Adams and Sally Taylor Adams; husband: Wayne Thomas and sisters: Virginia Hall, Viola Chappell, Gertrude Jones, Lorine Harris, and Polly Barnett.

Funeral services for Sydney will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Entombment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, September 6, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
