Suzanne Mary Clark, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 following a brief illness.
Susie was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on September 30, 1927. Her nickname was “Boo” to her friends because of her cute habit of sneaking up on them. She had received a B. S. degree from Michigan State University and worked as a legal secretary for several years in Las Vegas, Nevada.
When she was younger she loved to work in the yard, spending hours raking until there wasn’t a single leaf left. A few years ago she told her best friend, Dolores, she thought it was about time she “retired” from her yard work. She loved word search puzzles. She was very graceful on her feet and secretly loved to dance to Dancing with the Stars. She loved attending the New Prospect Baptist Church, where she especially loved singing, clapping and patting her feet to the hymns during singing time.
While Susie had no family left, she had friends that were even dearer to her than family that will miss her dearly. They include: Ruby Dolores Shue, her best friend and sister of the heart; Colleen Jackson Davis, special friend and confident; Joyce Renfro, best friend of heart; Kay Doty and Lois Nokie Nichols, close friends; and Freda Fore.
Ruby wrote the following shortly before Susie passed away and Susie thought it was a beautiful sentiment:
In Love I lie,
In Peace I rest;
In Death I rejoice.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Ms. Clark will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and will be officiated by Bro. Larry Spears.
