Susan Rae Kinser

Mrs. Susan Rae Hensley Embler Kinser, age 38, a resident of Fairview Drive in Mt Pleasant passed away on Saturday, April 11, at St Thomas Hospital.

A Celebration of life service for Mrs. Kinser will be conducted Tuesday at 5:00 P.M. at the Highland Park Baptist Church of Columbia with Bro. Ezell Rose, Bro. Bob Adair and Bro. Gilly Andrews officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. at the church. Williams Funeral Home of Columbia will be in charge of the arrangements.

Born on September 22, 1970 in Waverly, Tennessee, Susan is the daughter of Jannie Duncan Hensley of Culleoka and Lester Ray Patsy Hensley of Columbia and the wife of David Preston Kinser, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant. Susan was co-owner of the Spoiled Lady with her sister, Cindy Sims and later became a stay home mom. Susan loved raising money for charity work, especially Harvest Share and enjoyed sewing for everyone. Susan was Ty Cobb's right hand campaign person and also was his personal friend. In her younger years she loved playing soft ball and one year made it to the World Series. She was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her children: Patrick Kye Embler, Lauryn Taylor Kinser and Joseph Grady Knox Kinser of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters: Sandra Hensley and Cindy K Anthony Sims of Culleoka and one brother, Daniel Ray Bethany Hensley of Culleoka; paternal grandmother: Sarah Margaret Hensley Wright Clark of Columbia; several nieces: Kasandra Susan Sims, Kathryn Elizabeth Sims, Raegan A. Mills, Savanna Nicole Monhollen and a nephew, William Andrew Monhollen.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Hugh Taylor Duncan, Lura Curry Duncan; paternal grandparents, General Lester Hensley and Grady Welton Wright.

The family requested that memorials may be made to a College Fund for her children at Regions Bank, Shadybrook Branch, 884 S. James Campbell Blvd, Columbia, TN 38401.
