The Saginaw, Michigan native was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Rosalie Gardner Lange. She was a former long-time resident of Essexville, Michigan. Having moved to Columbia in 1989, she was a training coordinator for the Saturn Corporation. She was a member of H.O.G. Chapter of Middle Tennessee of Cool Springs and the L.O.H. Chapter of Middle Tennessee. She was widely known for her outgoing personality and friendly smile. All who knew her and loved her will know that she will be there to greet them at the door when the time comes.

She is survived by her devoted husband Guy J. Dowdy of Columbia, TN; a daughter, Beth Ann Dennis Mosser of Franklin, TN; a granddaughter, Addison Lange Mosser of Franklin, TN; a sister, Sherry Paul Lewandowski of Linwood, MI; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Grace Dowdy of Madison, TN; sister-in-law Janis Bill Reilly of Nashville, TN; a niece, Lauri Brett Gardner of Nashville, TN; neighbors, Barb and Jeff Basalyga of Columbia, TN; numerous friends including, Donna Nolan and Ken Brown of Mt. Pleasant, TN, the H.O.G. Chapter of Middle TN of Cool Springs, and the L.O.H. Chapter of Middle TN; former husband, Gary Birch of Belden, MS; the entire Birch family; many others whose geographical distance from her could not diminish her love.

We will continue to honor her by striving to live our lives as she lived hers. We will show courage, love our families, respect our elders, endure adversity, maintain with a keen sense of humor, and enjoy life with an everlasting spirit.

Any donated photo momentoes of Susan celebrating her life would be greatly appreciated. A special thanks to Sherry Richardson and Roleen James.
