Steven M. Jacobs, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the age of 51.
He was born April 2, 1968 in Norman, Oklahoma to Melvin L. and E. Myrlene (Phipps) Jacobs. He graduated from Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and attended Middle Tennessee State University where he played trumpet with the MTSU Marching Band. He loved his job as a Manager of Data Management with Surgery Partners in Brentwood, Tennessee and exceled in Team Management, Data Governance, Project Management, Software Development and Solution Architecture.
His wife and three children were his world. He loved spending time with his family, playing with his two dogs and two cats, traveling abroad, serving in his church and loving on others. Steve was a friend to everyone he met. He also loved sports. Steve was a devoted Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators fan and also loved to watch Oklahoma University Football.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years Rachel Jacobs; his three children: Fiona, Finnegan and Eily Jacobs; his parents: Pastor Melvin and Myrlene Jacobs; one brother: Randy Jacobs; one sister: Brenda (Steven) Williams; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Sam (Angela) Barnhart; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Thompson Station Church – 291 Wayne Street, Columbia, Tennessee on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 6:00 PM with visitation starting at 4:00 PM.
