Steven Edward Pulley, age 21, a resident of Overton Drive in Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Steven will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Georgina Bearden officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of Donald Pulley and Patricia Morris Pulley Pitts, both of Columbia. He worked at the Shady Brook cinemas, the YMCA and Check Outs. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Solid Rock Christian Academy.
Steven was fondly nicknamed "Bunkus" by his Paw Paw who went home to be with the Lord in 2004. Now "Bunkus" and Paw Paw are reunited in that place where there is no more sorrow or suffering.
Survivors in addition to his parents include aunts and uncles: Jane and Sonny Flippo of Waynesboro, Dianne and Leroy Bradford of Columbia, Sandra and Jimmy Griggs of Lewisburg, Donnie and Stacey Morris of Logansville, GA, Rhonda and Jay Brown of Unionville, Larry, Ricky and June Swann of Alabama, Tammy and Tim Jenkins of Summertown, Lisa Cashion of Lewisburg, Leigh Ann Hinson of Columbia, Joe Connell of Columbia and Steven's self adopted aunt Linda Kaye Hedrick of Columbia; cousins: Carey, Tracy, Dakota and Shelby Bradford of Columbia, Jamie Griggs of Lewisburg, Brittany, CJ, Jonathan and Zack Morris and Kristin Jenkins of Logansville, GA, Blake and Brandy and Kacyne Jenkins of Summertown, Christi Davis and Brad Cashion of Lewisburg, Bethany Hinson and Brandon Connell of Columbia, Joe, Corey and Cinthia Swann of Alabama, William, Clinton and Christopher Brown of Unionville and Seth Flippo of Waynesboro; grandparents: Ida Dean Brewer of Waynesboro and Dorothy Mai Swann of Columbia; special friends: Rachel Fox and Derrick Hayes, both of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers, Fred M. Swann and Charles E. Morris and paternal grandfather, James Edward "Ton" Pulley and paternal step-grandfather: Tom Brewer, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Blake Jenkins, Derrick Hayes, Brad Cashion, Jeffrey Lykins, CJ Morris, Jonathan Morris, Coty Brewer, William Swann, Clinton Swann, Christopher Swann, Joe Swann and Carey Bradford. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Shady Brook Cinema, Brusters, YMCA and Check Outs.
