Steven Craig Standard

November 1, 1949 — August 2, 2003

On August 2, 2003, Mr. Steven Craig Standard, 53, a faithful servant of Christ, was ushered into the eternal presence of God. He was a humble man who boldly shared the love of Christ.
Funeral services for Mr. Standard will be conducted Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Bro. Anthony Skipworth, Bro. Randy Nichols, and Bro. Eric Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Canton, IL, he was the son of the late H. Truman and Elois Whites Standard and husband of Peggy Patterson Standard, whom he married in June, 2002. He was an owner of rental property, a clerk at Ace Hardware, and a substitute teacher for the Maury County Schools. He was a member of New Life Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Amber Standard of Brentwood, TN; grandson, Sebastian Standard of Brentwood, TN; a stepson, Landon Vick of Cookeville, TN; a stepdaughter, Laura Vick of Martin, TN; two sisters, Marilyn Standard DeLeon of Chicago, IL and Jeanine Kenneth Bloyd of Canton, IL; a brother, Mark Judy Standard of Hanover, NM; and a special aunt, Lea Freeman Walters of Rushville, IL.
Pallbearers will be Scott Pugh, Dwight Nickell, Pat Stephens, Leon Ogilvie, Mike Pfeiffer, Mike Allen and Rob Moore. Honorary pallbearers are the members of New Life Church and Promise Keepers.
