Stephen Victor Altobell

Mr. Stephen Victor Altobell, age 57, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

“Apple” as he was affectionately known, was born on June 23, 1956 in Flint, Michigan to the late Laurence Joseph Altobell and Hazel Tucker Altobell. He was married for thirty-seven years to Donna Ragsdale Altobell and they had two sons together. A hard worker, Apple worked at Superior Essex in Franklin for twenty eight years.

Apple is survived by his loving wife: Donna Ragsdale Altobell of Columbia; sons: Matthew Stephen Altobell and Jacob Shane Altobell both of Columbia; brothers-in-law: Randy Ragsdale and Johnny Ragsdale; sister-in-law: Carla Ragsdale; half-siblings: Theresa Altobell, Lizzy Altobell, Larry Altobell, Santa Altobell, Ginny Altobell, Anthony Altobell, William Barnes, Dennis Barnes, Peggy Barnes; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his half-brother: William Barnes; father-in-law: James Ragsdale and mother-in-law: Emma Jean Ragsdale.

Funeral services for Apple will be conducted on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Brian Gregory and Joe Macer officiating. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday before the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be “A” Shift team members of Superior Essex. The family would like to allow special recognition of his best friends Gil Ellis and Dennis Marlin.
