Stanley James Dickens of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee passed away at his home on December 26, 2018, surrounded by his family, at the age of 53.
Stan was born February 11, 1965 in Maury County to Belton Stanley Dickens and the late Nancy Baggett Dickens. He drove a truck for over twenty-five years including over the road and also held local delivery positions. He was pursuing his college degree and was a published poet, who had works in the Library of Congress. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Academic Honor Society and Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society. He was a humble man, reserved and quiet. He attended Macedonia Church of Christ and took great pride in being a Christian, and loved his family deeply. He was a long time member of the Mt Joy Community. Stan was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
Stan is survived by his loving wife; Ginger Dickens, father; Belton Dickens, daughter; Grace (Matt) Dunn, siblings; Margot (Mike) Penrod, Kerry (Terri) Dickens, Scott (Nikki) Dickens, grandchildren; Carter, Liza, Beau, Anna, nieces and nephews; Cody Penrod, Morgan Keeton, Sydney Troyer, Maggie Dickens, Ben Dickens and Avery Dickens.
Graveside services will be Monday December 31, 2018 at Knob Creek Cemetery at 11:00 am with Bro. John Baker officiating.
Pallbearers: Kerry Dickens, Scott Dickens, Mike Penrod, Ben Dickens, Jimmy Attkisson, and Michael Allen.
Honorary Pallbearers: Cody Penrod, Don Taylor and Dee Taylor.
