Shirley M. Maghielse

Mrs. Shirley M. Chenevert Maghielse, age 85, a resident of Pine Ridge Road in Waynesboro, passed away Friday at Alive Hospice of St. Thomas in Nashville.

Born May 31, 1925 in River Rouge, MI, daughter of the late James and Rhea Dubay Chenevert and the wife of Carl Maghielse of Waynesboro, to whom she was married to for 63 years. She was working for the Lincoln Park Industries when she met Carl and they married in 1947. She studied art and specialized in painting, sculpturing and drawing. When they decided to retire, they moved to Waynesboro. Then they decided to come out of retirement and started the Mak Tool & Gage Company, where she was co-owner, along with her husband, and the office manager. Mrs. Maghielse attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Craig Maghielse of Waynesboro, Cynthia Larry Baiocco of Gallatin, C.B. Polly Maghielse of Waynesboro, Claudia Maghielse of Dripping Springs, TX and Cathryn Doug Shelton of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren: Valerie, Victoria, Vanessa, Veronica, Nathan, Nicolas, Branden, Chris, Shane, Kyle, Jacob, Kurt, Courtney, Caitlyn, & Cacey. great grandchildren: CJ, Joseph, Rachel, Cameron, Tori, Jacy, Jordan, Caleb, Bradley, Cali, Sophia, Samson, Hayes, Alexis, Addison, Devon, & Cheyenne.

A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Maghielse will be held 7:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Deacon Mike Hume officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Maghielse loved her family very much and will be fondly remembered by the community.
