Mrs. Shirley E. ?Babock? Whitwell Allen, 70, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 at her residence on Loftin Road in Columbia.
Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be conducted Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home of Columbia with Reverend Brent Landers and Brother Larry Rawdon officiating. A private graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at the Polk memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William B. and Osa Anderson Whitwell. She was the widow of Joe Howard Allen who passed away in 1988. Mrs. Allen was a retired L.P.N. from Maury Regional Hospital where she was employed for 42 years.
She is survived by her children, Sherrie Malugin of Columbia, TN and Joey Vickie Allen both of Columbia, TN, Rita Larry Rawdon of Hohenwald, TN, Georganna Allen, Randy Dawn Allen both of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer Malugin, Jessica Burton, and Delaney Allen all of Columbia, TN, Savannah Rawdon, Heather Rawdon and Zoe Rawdon all of Hohenwald, TN, Jo Jo Allen, Jason Alexander, Jaren Adkins, Jacob Malugin all of Columbia, TN, Larry Rawdon of Hohenwald, TN, Ben Skinner of Columbia, TN; great-grandchildren, Lilli Allen, Garrett Journey, Payton Allen and Keely Allen all of Columbia, TN; two sisters, Jean Charlie Williams of Metarie, LA and Larissa Charlie Delk of Hendersonville, TN; one brother, Carlton Jayne Whitwell of Mt. Pleasant, TN and special friend, Marilyn Douglas.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeremy Ray Allen; one sister, Eleanor Hines and two brothers, Eldred and Dennis Whitwell.
