Mr. Sherrell M. Green, age 71, resident of Preacher Holt Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, at Hidden Acres Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services for Mr. Green will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Jeff Smith and Bro. David Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Giles County native was the son of the late Toby Green and Cora Weatherford Green. He was the husband of Gladys "Dolly" McKennon Green of Mt. Pleasant, to whom he was married for 51 years. Mr. Green was retired as an electrician with Fulton Plumbing Company and was a member of the Freedom Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children: Vicky Perry Hall of Mt. Pleasant, Roxane Michael Small of Michigan and Morris Dana Green of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Stephanie Hall, Robert Hall, Kawanna Hite, Ashley Frech, Emily Small, Michael Small, Caitlyn Green and Dylan Green great-grandchildren: Lillyane Frech and Suzanne Emily Frech; sister: Sandra Lytle Thomas of Nashville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five siblings: Arlon Green, Alton Green, Otis Green, Jerry Green and Ronald Green.
Pallbearers will be Mike Small, John Frech, Perry Hall, Robert Hall, Ronnie Green, Jim Green, Carl Lovett, Jerry Cole McKennon and Mike Cothran. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Freedom Church of Christ.
