Mr. Shelby Huey, 88, resident of Allison Drive in Columbia, died Friday, April 2, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Huey will be conducted Sunday, April 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Randy Kersey and Hueston Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Dyersburg, Tennessee native was the son of the late Russell and Fannie Jacobs Hughey. He was the widower of Hazel Isabell Huey who died in 2003. He was a retired supervisor for Mobil Oil Company in Mt. Pleasant. He was a carpenter and furniture builder and a member of Scribner?s Mill Church of Christ.
He is survived by a son, Tony Huey of Columbia, TN; four grandchildren, Chris Huey and Shannon Huey both of Summertown, TN, Tiffany Huey and Miranda Huey both of Columbia, TN; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgie Skelley and Azalene Jupitner; two brothers, Raymond Hughey and William Hughey.
Pallbearers will be Tony Endsley, George Endsley, Richard Yates, Jerry Vaughn, Buddy Smith, and Billy Stone.
Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff of Life Care Center and members of Scribner?s Mill Church of Christ.
