Sharron Smith went to be with her creator on October 3, 2019, at the age of 78.
The retired LPN was from Columbia, TN. She was born on January 26, 1941, to the late David and Elma Pilkington Walls. She spent time as a bank teller before becoming an LPN and working in the Emergency Department at Maury Regional Medical Center until retirement in 2005. Sharron was self-reliant, independent, had a fierce love for her Lord and Savior, extraordinarily well-read, and had a passion for animals. She was a long-time member of the Red Hat Society and Grace Church of the Nazarene.
A service in honor of Sharron will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019, beginning at 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral home in Columbia. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening October 6, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Jason Caddy will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Will Mims, Liam Kelly, Gerald Mims, Jr., Jonathan Whitaker, Mike Hubbard, and Shon Walls.
Her loving husband Gary Smith survives Sharron; daughter: LeeAnn (Phillip) Jenkins; grandsons: Jeremy and Gregory Byrd; nieces: Michelle Walls and Tracey Walls; nephews: David Walls and Shon Walls; her in-laws: Gerald Sr. and Christine Mims. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Walls and his wife Noni Walls and her sister Nina Lee Walls.
