Sharon D. Heidenreich, age 83, of Columbia, Tennessee and formerly of the Marshall, Michigan area died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN.
Mrs. Heidenreich was born on June 14, 1936 in Battle Creek to William R. and Agnes M. (French) Diver. Sharon grew up in Marshall, Michigan, and was a graduate of Marshall High School, class of 1954. She then continued her education attending Michigan State University. As a teenager, she worked at the old Peck Drug Store and then Cronin Clothing Store in downtown Marshall. She also worked for the Bell Telephone Company prior to her marriage. Sharon was a long-time resident of Frankenmuth, Michigan, she then moved to Tennessee to live closer to her daughter, Karen.
On May 4, 1957, she married Frederick L. Heidenreich at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albion, Michigan. Fred preceded her in death on September 10, 2009.
While her children were attending college, Sharon worked at the Jacobson Department Store in sales for ten years. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church for many years attending Zion Lutheran Church in Marshall and later St. John Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth. While living in Columbia, TN, she attended Trinity Lutheran Church and made many friends there.
Sharon had been a very active member of the communities in which she had lived in often volunteering in the hospitals, with the school PTA and on church boards and committees. Sharon was a very artistic person, enjoying painting in many different mediums. She also enjoyed hand crafting personal cards and sending long personal letters.
She is survived by a daughter, Julie Heitsch and her husband John; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Steven and Emily; sisters-in-law, Katherine Heidenreich, of Frankenmuth and Carolyn Fox and husband Bud; cousin, Kim and Kent Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Agnes Diver; her husband, Frederick; and a daughter, Karen Heidenreich DeVoney.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Marshall Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 723 Old US 2 N., Marshall, Michigan. A funeral service to celebrate the gift of her life will be held 11:30 am the funeral home. With a luncheon following the service. Interment will take place after the luncheon in Oakridge Cemetery, Marshall.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbia, Tennessee on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 7:00 PM.
