Sarah F. Gibson

Sarah F. Gibson of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully September 1, 2015. Sarah was born in Russellville, AL to the late William A. and Lillian Christian Farned. Sarah was a member of the Virginia Mae Kittrell King’s Daughters Circle for over 50 years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant where she was the pianist for many years.

She is survived by her daughter Gloria (David) Lovell of Columbia, TN, granddaughter Beth Workman of Nashville, TN, grandson Ryan Lovell of Columbia, TN, sister Mary W. Underwood of Sheffield, AL, nieces Mary Kay Johnson, Linda Doss and Debbie Davis and nephew Thomas McCarley, and other nieces and nephews.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Dan Gibson, Jr. and her sister Annie Ruth Underwood.

The family will visit with friends Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 4-7:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Frank Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant or the King’s Daughters.

Stephen Hughes, Thomas McCarley, Danny Balentine, Butch Balentine, Russell West, Jr., and David Edwards will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Balentine, David Hughes, Eric Hughes, Chris Hughes, Paul Carpenter, Jim Baily, Bob Sims, Tim Smith, John Davis, Jr., Jeff Sisk, Virgil Stewart, Chandler Johnson, deacons of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, and employees of Morning Pointe of Columbia.
