Sarah Ellen Murphy, 80, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2006, at NHC/Hillview.
Funeral services for Miss Murphy will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 am at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Clarence H. and Kate King Murphy. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sisters: Anne Gibson of Columbia, Dorothy Lucius Edwards and Carolyn Douglas, both of Mt. Pleasant; six nephews: David Gerri Edwards of Mt. Pleasant, Johnny Daryn Edwards of Memphis, Neal Kay Gibson of Nashville, Danny Laarni Douglas of Gallipolis, OH, Jerry Douglas of Murfreesboro and Hendley Beverly Edwards of Mt. Pleasant; two nieces: Marilyn Dennison of Nashville and Sandra David Hardison of Lexington, KY; many beloved great nieces and nephews; special friend: Shirley Bellaphant. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Katheryn Murphy Edwards and Martha Hayes Murphy.
Pallbearers will be Neal Gibson, Matthew Hardison, Benjamin Hardison, Jonathan Hardison, John David Edwards, David Edwards, Johnny Edwards, Hendley Edwards, Jerry Douglas, Jed Douglas and Mike McKnight. Honorary pallbearers will be employees and residents of the Impact Center, David Hardison, Randy Kersey, Luc Edwards, Glenn Kinnard, Lucius Edwards II and close family and friends.
