Mrs. Sara Etta McCarty Nelson, 81, a resident of Hidden Acres Drive in Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at Sunbridge Health Care Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Entombment will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Williams Columbia Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The Birmingham, Alabama native was the daughter of the late Charles and Eunice Blackwell McCarty and widow of Dwight Baxter Nelson, Sr. She was a retired bookkeeper for Jim Wyatt Construction Company in Columbia and member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura Bradshaw of Kingsport, TN; a son, Dwight Baxter Charlene Nelson, Jr. of Shelbyville, TN; a brother, Grover McCarty of Alabama; several grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
