Sara Ann Glenn

Mrs. Sara Ann Weaver Glenn, age 86, a long time resident of Greens Mill Road in Spring Hill, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011.

Sara was born on November 2, 1924 in Giles County and was the daughter of the late William Henry "W.H." and Sallie Crossland Weaver. She was the wife of Horace Garland "Punk", Glenn who preceded her in death on February 14, 2008. Horace Garland and Sara had 59 years of a great married life together. They loved working the farm together and enjoyed milking cows. Sara worked many years for Parks Belk and she managed the farm business for her and her husband. Sara was a graduate of Columbia Business College and worked at Sowell Printing in her early years. Sara was an avid quilter and made many beautiful quilts over the years. She was a member of the Lanton Church of Christ.

Sara is survived by her children, Joan Fussell of Whites Creek, TN, Stephen Sandy Glenn of Booneville, Miss, Lois David Thomas of Spring Hill, TN and Mark Victoria Glenn of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren: Michael Cathie Fussell Jr., Christi Cheyenne Brown, Barbie Fussell, Adam Jill Glenn, Zachary Glenn, Kelsey Glenn, Daniel Thomas, Matthew Hilary Thomas, William Glenn, Tyler Glenn, Joshua Glenn, Chris Staley and Paige Dewayne Heard and 10 great-grandchildren. She is survived by four sisters and three brothers: Ola Mae Andrews, Jane Trimble, Clarence Weaver, Neva Pearl Kincaid, William Henry "Bill"Valree Weaver, Jr., Nellie Valton Rummage, Jack Faye Weaver, sister -in-law, Elizabeth David Hardison. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: Samuel Weaver, George Nell Weaver, Eulala Prestridge, Cheatham Hall "Doc" Weaver, Roy Weaver, Hint Frierson Weaver and Mary Kirk and son-in-law, Michael Fussell, Sr.

Funeral services for Mrs. Glenn will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 12th, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Clay Gentry and Dalton Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The Glenn Family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Fussell, Jr. Daniel Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Chris Staley, Adam Glenn, Zachary Glenn, William Glenn, Tyler Glenn, and Joshua Glenn. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lanton Church of Chrst.
