Sandra Elaine Taylor, age 51, of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on September 23, 2018, at home surrounded by love from her family.
Sandra was born on November 4, 1966 to the late Bobby and Betty Cawood. She was born in Italy and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sandra was a proud mother to her children. In October of 2006 she experienced the devastating loss of her son, Brad, with whom she is now reunited in their heavenly home. Sandra was a “group mom” she always opened her home to her children’s friends and loved each one of them as if they were her own. Sandra could be described as a “safe place” for many; not only would she make sure that their housing and physical needs were taken care of but also always had an open ear and open heart to help those who needed it. Being a caretaker was one of the things that Sandra was known for and did best. She took care of her mother, father, animals and friends and family. Sandra never met a stranger, she always talked to everyone and enjoyed not only making others laugh but laughing herself. Sandra was the proud grandmother of her 6-month-old granddaughter “Ging Ging”. In the last part of her life she was lovingly cared for by her daughters and son in law and was surrounded with love.
Sandra is survived by her daughters, Destiny Taylor, Whitney (Andrew) Owens and son, Dustin (Oksana) Taylor; granddaughter, Paisley Owens; sister, Awanda (Peter) Smith and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Brad, brother, Michael Cawood and sister, Marcia Cawood.
