Samuel “Sammy” Junior Escue, age 67, of Summertown, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in Summertown, Tennessee.
Sammy was born on July 27, 1947 in Lewis County, Tennessee to the late Charlie Raymond Escue and Ruby Elizabeth Gray. He was a very hard worker, loved his children, grandchildren, and his late wife Trish. Sammy worked in construction and worked until his illness in July. Sammy’s fondest memories were when his children were born. He was very active with his family. He loved riding four-wheelers with his grandchildren and Trish and enjoyed having family cookouts. He was very active in his church, Hinestown Christian Church, and would always gather the children and take them to the church events.
Sammy is survived by his children Dee (Tammy) Escue of Waynesboro and Marsha (Red) Owen of Theta; stepchildren Shonda Fletcher of Hohenwald and Allen (Haley) Seiber of Summertown; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Brenda Holloway; brother Woody Escue; and sister Elizabeth Escue.
Sammy was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann Escue; his parents Charlie Raymond Escue and Ruby Elizabeth Gray; son Crockett Escue; step-daughter Rachael Diana; and granddaughter Natasha Escue.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Whispering Hills Church of God. The family will gather with friends from 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2014 until the service time on Friday.
