Mr. Samuel Robert Estell, age 82, a resident of Crofton Park in Columbia, passed away Saturday, November 28, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
Born August 14, 1927 in Columbus, OH, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mattie Freeman Estell and the husband of the late Carol Slade Estell. Mr. Estell held a bachelors in mathematics, was a commercial builder and an executive for the Boy Scouts of America. He played football for Woody Hayes at the University of Miami of Ohio and was a US Navy veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his sons: Steve Brenda Estell of Columbia and Glenn Liz Estell of Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren: Richard Estell of Columbia and Sara and Samantha Estell, both of Holly Springs, NC; a brother: Richard Estell of Columbus, OH.
