Mrs. Ruth V. Wooten Beard, age 71, a resident of Alpine Dr. in Hohenwald, passed away on Friday, January 4, at the Lewis County Manor.
Funeral services for Mrs. Beard will be conducted Sunday January 6, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Ronnie Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 3:00 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Doddsville, MS native was the daughter of the late William Wooten and Leoter Dewees Wooten and the widow of Travis W. Beard. She was a homemaker and a member of the Freedom Holy Temple.
She is survived by her children: Judy V. Joe Green of Columbia, Mary J. Johnson of Hohenwald, Gwendol A. Jackie Roland, Betty Steve Love, Dorothy Jimmy Brooks, Wanda David Mercer, Delores J. Bradford, Debbie Steven Curry and Jody. Juan Soto all of Columbia, TN; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Pearlie Pyles of Jonesboro, Ark.
She was preceded in death by one son: Odell Beard and one daughter: Emma Jean Riley.
Pallbearers will be Michael Roland, Clinton Green, David Mercer, Steve Curry, Jackie Roland and Ricky Haskins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Whatley, Chris Whatley and Joe Green.
