Ruth Smith Wood

Mrs. Ruth Smith Wood, 86, a resident of Ashwood Road in the Cross Bridges Community, died Thursday, November 28, 2002 at Life Care Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wood will be conducted Friday, November 29, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Frank Wells and Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Gus and Mary Ethel Voss Smith. She was the widow of Harvey Wood who died in 1974. She was a homemaker and member of the Cedar Hill Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, Doug Retha Wood of the Cross Bridges Community; two grandchildren, Julie Jimmy Lott and Jim Cornelia Wood both of the Cross Bridges Community; two great grandchildren, Justin Robinette and Jessica Wood. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Wood who died in Vietnam.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Charlie Smith, Huey Smith, Sonny Smith, Ronnie Allen, Justin Robinette, Kevin Sims, and Doug Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Lott, J.L. Smith, Billy Smith, Wayne Smith, and the men of Cedar Hill Church of Christ.
