Mrs. Ruth Murray Neeley, age 91, a resident of Washington Ave. in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services for Mrs. Neeley will be held Saturday, May 30 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Edd Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born December 10, 1917 in Springfield, IL, Ruth was the daughter of the late Morris Cleveland Murray and Rose Johnson Murray and the wife of the late William Howard Neeley. Along with her late husband, she was co-owner and operator of a local business in Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter: Dr. Ann Neeley of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter: Tammi Tommy McCall of Columbia; great grandchildren: Neeley McCall, Will McCall, Chris and Chase Neeley, all of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a son: William Morris "Butch" Neeley and two grandsons: William Todd Neeley and James Howard Neeley.
Pallbearers will be Michael Cline, Tommy McCall, Vance Hendrickson, Lonnie Daniels, Henley Edwards and Raymond Workman.
