Ruth Lucille Love

Mrs. Ruth Lucille Stanfill Love, age 91, a resident of Cayce Lane, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Love will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 2:00 ? 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was born January 7, 1918, the daughter of the late Richard Reddick Stanfill and Betty Ann Kelly Stanfill. She was the wife of the late Houston Walker Love. Mrs. Love had worked for Quality Cleaners for 17 years. She worked in several local restaurants for several years and as a private sitter. Ruth loved cooking, gardening and canning and working in her flower gardens. She had a special love for her two cats, Tom and Jerry. Ruth would open her door to strangers and friends and fed a numerous number of folks at her table. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ.

Survivors include her children: Howard Ruth Love of Columbia, Darlene Jerry Kennedy of Mt. Pleasant, Barbara Billy Garland of Louisville, KY, Donald Linda Love of Williamsport, David Love of Columbia, Patricia Mark Jett of Columbia, Tony Love of Columbia, Shirley Wendell Spears of Mt. Pleasant, Johnny Love of Columbia and Bobby Love also of Columbia; 27 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; one sister: Leatha Pullen and one brother: Oscar Stanfill. She was preceded in death a son: Harold Love and a daughter-in-law: Vickie Love; a grandson: Jeffery K. Love; brothers and sisters: Reatha Daniels, Ruby Potts, Hubert Stanfill, Harlan Stanfill, Clifton Stanfill and Buford Stanfill and a special friend: H.T. Hight.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Care All Health Care and Hospice Compassus.

Pallbearers will be Steve Roscoe, Leonard "Bubba" Lee, Jr., Anthony Lee, Brandon Love, Shannon Love, Victor Grant Love, Jeremy "Bubba" Waller and Kaleb Haywood.
