Ruth Mable Francis, 86, of Columbia passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at her residence. Ruth was born on August 11, 1930 to the late Frank Thompson and Irene LeBarron in Cambridge, New York.
Ruth’s family describes her as a feisty lady but also as a loving, caring and kind hearted lady. She was a very talented seamstress and quilter. Ruth attended Friendship Baptist for many years. The love she showed for her Lord was genuine and showed through her everyday life.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Tammy Legg; grandchildren, Magan Legg and Clint Legg; great granddaughter, Kenleigh Legg; siblings, Frank Thompson and Shirley Thompson; and special friend, Brooksie St. Clair.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Irene Thompson; her husband, Flournoy Francis; her brother, Richard Thompson; and sister, Sandra Thompson.
The family will visit with friends on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Polk Memorial Gardens with John St. Clair officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Legg, Parker Francis, Anthony Francis, and Arnold Francis.
