Ruth E. Johnson

Mrs. Ruth E. Johnson., age 76, a resident of Pleasant Drive, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted Saturday December 2, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Brother Carl Duck and Reverend Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Allie Hill Benefield and wife of the late Lloyd L. Johnson. She was a graduate of Summertown High School and attended barber school. Mrs. Johnson had a barber shop at her residence and worked for Wal-Mart as a phone operator. She was a member of the West End Baptist Church and a member of the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion and VFW.

Survivors include one daughter, Patty Richard Rose of Pulaski, TN and one son, Ray Debbie Johnson both of Perryville, MO; grandchildren, Jana Johnson and Scott Johnson of Columbia, TN, Dustin Tina Rose and Amber Rose both of Pulaski, TN; brothers and sisters, Sue Robert Lyons of Summertown, TN, Billy Carolyn Benefield of Columbia, TN, Delano Lucretia Benefield of Summertown, TN, Mike Margaret Benefield and Kathy Bobby Burlison of Summertown, TN; step grandchildren, Nikki Oliver and Jon Rose both of Pulaski; step-great-grandchildren, Dillon Rose, Tyler Oliver, McKenzie Rose and Bethany Oliver all of Pulaski, TN. She was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Benefield.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Benefied, Steve Benefield, Bobby Benefield, Chad Burleson, John Burleson, Chuck Lyons and Kenny Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. and Mrs. Harry Helm, Jerry and Ailene Norman, Pat and Janice Troope, Joy Sunday School Class, Richard Baud and Employees of Wal-Mart, Dr. Linda Monroe and Dr. David P. Carbone.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Maury County Unit, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
