Russell Vroon, a devoted father and family man, Marine, and skilled craftsman, passed away on March 2, 2025. Born in Michigan, Russell lived a life full of passion, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
A proud Marine, Russell carried the values of service and dedication throughout his life. His career as a crew chief for American Airlines showcased his expertise and strong work ethic. Beyond his professional life, he had many passions—hunting, fishing, and reloading ammunition were among his favorite pastimes. He also had a deep love for cooking, with a special talent for BBQ and smoking brisket and steak, a skill that brought family and friends together around the table.
Russell was a natural tinkerer, always working on small engines and finding ways to fix what was broken. He had a deep appreciation for Chevy pickup trucks and found joy in mowing the grass, taking pride in a well-kept yard. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching football, always cheering for his favorite team, the Detroit Lions. His genuine personality and giving nature made him a pillar of strength and support for his family. He made sure they always had what they needed, offering not just material support but also wisdom, kindness, and an endless willingness to lend a hand.
Russell is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Leonard Vroon. He is survived by his loving daughter, Heather Dawn Sadberry and son-in-law, Matt. His mother, Phyllis Pulley; his siblings, Helen Vroon, Paula Flint, and Benjamin Doyle; and his cherished grandchildren, Riley Sparks, Hadley Sadberry, Oakley Sadberry, Gregory Sadberry, and Matthew Sadberry; and bonus daughters: Heather Renee and Katy and bonus grandchildren. His family extends to many nieces and nephews. His memory will be carried on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Russell's life was one of dedication, generosity, and warmth. His family and friends will forever cherish the moments shared with him, the lessons he imparted, and the love he gave so freely.
