Rudy G. Staggs

Mr. Rudy G. Staggs, age 60, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2007
A memorial service for Mr. Staggs will be conducted Saturday, July 28, at 2:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Wayne Grissom, Dwight Staggs and Lauren Lackey officiating.
The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
Born in Hohenwald, TN, he was the son of the late Elvin and Willodean Hensley Staggs and husband of Donna K. Smith Staggs. He was a master electrician with Triple M Contracting Inc. Capt. Staggs graduated with honors from flight school in Ft. Rucker, AL and served with distinction in Germany, Korea and stateside from 1969 to 1975. He was a commercially licensed helicopter and fixed wing pilot.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Todd Holly Staggs of Bartlett and Ryan Christy Staggs of Old Hickory; a daughter, Ashley Tim Nowlen of Pearl, MS.; brothers, Gerald Staggs of Hohenwald and Dwight Kendy Staggs of Hermitage; a sister, Margie Hinson of Hohenwald; grandchildren, Rick and Lauren Lackey of Bartlett; Hutson, Ali, Christian and Sofie Kaye Staggs of Old Hickory; Sydnie and Katie Nowlen of Pearl, MS. He was preceded in death by brothers, Armond Staggs and Donald Staggs; sisters, Winnie Staggs and Martha Staggs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #19 Charitable Fund, 812 Nashville Hwy., Columbia, TN 38401 or to Hermitage Church of Christ, Ghana/W. Africa Church Building Fund, 4004 Lebanon Rd., Hermitage, TN 37076
