Mrs. Ruby Thorn Herren, 89, a resident of Wauford Drive in Nashville, passed away on Saturday, September 15, at St. Thomas Hospital.
Graveside services for Mrs. Herren will be conducted Tuesday September 18, at 1:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Brother Elmer Lusk officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. ? 12:30 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Vina, Alabama native was the daughter of the late Marion H. and Athel Underwood Thorn and the widow of Shannon E. Herren. She was a former seamstress at Parisian, retired from Caster Knotts and also worked at Alderson?s Cleaners. She was a member of Highland Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children: Martha Glenn Horner of Nashville, Glenna Stewart of Columbia and David Jan Herren of Galveston, IN.; one brother: F.D. Thorn of Zion Il; grandchildren: Stephenie Anders of IL, Bill Herren of S.C., Donna Carol Avermann of IL, Mike Herren of FL, Lee Herren of WI, Michelle Mee of FL, Sherri Harloff of FL, Mark Horner of VA, Gerald Horner of Spring Hill, Sharon Ryan of Columbia, Grady Stewart of Columbia, Shane Stewart of Murfreesboro and Kris Herren of Peru, IN; twenty five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son: Steve Herren; three brothers and one sister: Paul Thorn, Cullen Thorn, J.C. Thorn and Robbie Humphries.
Pallbearers will be Kris Herren, Mark Horner, Gerald Horner, Grady Stewart, Sam Ryan, David Ryan, Kenny Ryan and Kevin Thorn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Herren, Matthew Ryan, Shane Stewart, Cove Horner and Gil Horner.
