Ruby Pearl Underwood

Mrs. Ruby Pearl Underwood, age 79, long time resident of Florida Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in the company of her loving family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Underwood will be conducted Tuesday Feb. 19, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Greg Golden officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Louis Matlock and Lena Pearl Pierce Matlock. Mrs. Underwood was the wife of the late, Colin James "Jim" Underwood, Sr. who retired from Rhone-Poulenc of Mt. Pleasant

She is survived by her sister: Christine Simmons of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Colin James Janita Lynn Underwood, Jr. and a daughter: Susan Christine Neil Dale both of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren: Louis Cheryl Underwood of Culleoka, Richard Underwood of Columbia, Crystal Underwood of Mt. Pleasant, Samuel Underwood of Culleoka, Jon Luc Underwood, Rebecca and James Matt Dale both of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Jordan and Haley of Culleoka.

Pallbearers will be the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.

Special thanks goes to all the nurses who gave her care at Maury Regional Hospital and Caris Hospice. The family would also like to thank Dr. Thomas Quinn, Dr. Jon Freels, Dr. Eric Iverson and Dr. Cummins Couch
