Ruby Clair McWilliams, age 85, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at NHC Hillview.
Ruby was born on April 14, 1930 to the Robert Alexander Sims and Lizzie Seaton Sims in Mt. Joy, Tennessee. Ruby was married to the late Clifford “Buck” McWilliams and they raised nine children together. She was a wonderful gardener and could get anything to grow. Ruby loved to fish. She was a member of Porter’s Chapel Church of Christ.
The family will visit with friends on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee with Rev. William Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Ruby is survived by her daughters Fay (Harry) Bolton of Mt. Pleasant, Jean (Charles) Wright of Summertown, Deborah (Larry) Spurlock of Dover, and Janet (Matthew) Wood of Mt. Pleasant; sons Clifford “Mike” McWilliams of Spring Hill and Jeff (Luemma) McWilliams of Mt. Pleasant; brother Austin Sims of Florida; sister Elizabeth Kelly of Mt. Pleasant; thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Clifford “Buck” McWilliams; daughters May McWilliams, Sue Chapman, and Carolyn Davis; and siblings Raymond Sims, Charlie Sims, Tom Sims, James Sims, Jewell Pullen, and Lillian Haywood.
Pallbearers will be Ruby’s grandsons.
