Mrs. Ruby Collins, age 83, a resident of Hidden Acres Drive in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Collins will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Jeff Waldrop and Rev. William Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Fred Pierce and Dolly Kennedy Pierce. She was the wife of the late James "Buddy" Collins. Mrs. Collins was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and had worked on the family farm with her husband in raising tobacco. She was a member of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children: Wanda Bill Stewart of Mt. Pleasant and Charles Betty Collins of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Charles Dwayne Melissa Collins, Barbara Jeremy Powell, Melissa Alvin Morrow, and Katie Stewart; great-grandchildren: Tim Colvett, Dylan Powell, Weston Morrow, Charlie Collins, Mary Collins and Josh Collins; one great-great-grandchild: Maddy Colvett; one sister: Gladys Pierce of Hidden Acres and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Collins, Alvin Morrow, Jeremy Powell, Tim Colvett, Bruce Keltner and Charlie Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Hidden Acres Nursing Home.
