Ruby Cole Brown

Mrs. Ruby Jordan Cole Brown, 94, a resident of Wall Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, October 17, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital. Known to many as ?Grannie Brown?, Ruby Brown was a generous, loving woman who had a joy for life that was grounded in her deep love of God. She loved and cared for many during her long lifetime.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be conducted Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Jim Walsh officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Wayne County native was the daughter of the late Johnston Ellison and Saphronia Ann Jordan Cole. She was the widow of Charles Brown. Mrs. Brown was the cafeteria manager of Whitthorne Junior High School and King?s Daughters? School. For many years she was in charge of Food Services at the 4-H Club Camp of Columbia. She loved cooking, gardening, traveling, and antiques. She greatly enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her large extended family. She was a life long member of the Locust Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Imogene Brown Stone of Roswell, GA and Ruby Dean Brown Few of Murfreesboro, TN; thirteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren; son-in ?law, Jimmy Morrow of Hampshire, TN; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Ann Morrow who died in June of 2004 and ten brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Mark Stone, Steve Few, Charles Few, Kenny Morrow, Beth Stone Nix, Eric Shelton, Justine Few, and J.R. Morrow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Clendenen and Chris Gibson.
Memorials may be sent to the Locust Street Church of Christ 108 South Locust Street Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
