Roy W. White was born August 31, 1943 in Columbia, the son of the late John William White and Virginia Elizabeth Davis White. Roy served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Coca Cola and had been a self employed painter before becoming disabled. He was a member of the Cross Bridges Baptist Church. Roy was a devoted husband and wonderful father. He was the husband of Cheryl A. Winn White of Columbia.
In addition to Cheryl, Roy leaves behind his children, Dustin S. Winn of Columbia, Michelle R. White of Culleoka, Teresa F. Benderman and James A. White, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Hailey R. Benderman, Corey M. Benderman, Faith A. Fowler, Logan D. Blade, Michael T. Wessner and Paul M. Moore; two brothers, James "Tom" Penny White of Culleoka and Virgil W. White of Columbia along with many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Edna Winn, son-in-law, David Benderman and a sister-in-law, Doris Brown White.
Roy passed away on Sunday morning, January 15, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service for Roy will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Bro. Ronnie Banks officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Pallbearers will be Kenny White, Tommy White, Johnny Winn, Derrick Hay and Michael Blade.
