Mr. Roy "Mitch" Mitchell, age 64, a resident of Masters Lane, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 16, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mitch were conducted Saturday at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Matthew Wood and Rev. Ron Paul officiating.
Visitation was with the family Saturday from 4:00 PM until service time at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Born in Detroit, MI and raised in Powderhorn, CO, Mitch participated in rodeos and was a skilled equine and canine trainer. He was an animal lover and attended veterinarian school at Michigan State University. He worked for GM before coming to Tennessee. After arriving in Columbia, he became a sales consultant for Lucas Chevrolet. Mitch was an intelligent and dignified man, who will be forever loved in memory and in heart.
Survivors include his wife: Ruby Evelyn Williams-Mitchell of Columbia; step daughters: Teresa G. Williams of Fenton, MI and Gwen Jim Hunter of Milford, MI; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one of the loves of his life, "Sassy Rae", his beloved Bicshon Frisse.
Honorary pallbearers will be the loving friends and neighbors of Stoney Brook, the staff of Lucas Chevrolet and members of the Harvest Baptist Church.
The family has requested that donations be made to the St. Joseph's Indian School, Attn: Father Stephen Huffsetter, P. O. Box 100, Chamberlin, SD 57325.
