Mr. Roy E. Cummings, 82, resident of Canaan Rd. in Columbia, died Saturday at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services for Mr. Cummings will be conducted Monday, Feb. 3, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. William Owens officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the cemetery.
The Lawrence County native was the son of the late Charlie
and Bertha Pigg Cummings and the husband of the late Ruby Lovell Cummings. He owned and operated a service station in Mt. Pleasant and a retired security guard at Stafford Chemical Co.
He is survived by a son, Michael Cummings of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Kathy Cummings of Summertown; a grandson, Griffen Cummings of Murfreesboro; two step-daughters, Angela Jerry Hall and Pam Davis Honey, both of Mt. Pleasant; two step-sons, Bill Diana Lovell of Mt. Pleasant and Stanley Nona Lovell of Columbia; 10 step-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren.
Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hall, Bryan Lovell, Brent Lovell, Eric Pinkerton, Davis Honey and Bill Runions.
Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
