Roy Kenneth Cathey, age 89, resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, May 9th, 2021. Funeral Services were held Monday, at Williams Funeral Home.

Roy was born July 27, 1931 in Hampshire, TN. He was the son of the late William Cathey and Charlotte Cathey. He was a graduate of Hampshire High School. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at the Panama Canal and Lake Charles, Louisiana. He worked as a pressman for The Daily Herold for 20 years, Monsanto Chemical for 10 years and The Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife: Martha Cathey of Columbia, Son: Ken (Connie) Cathey of Columbia, daughter: Dawn (Tim) Crank of Murfreesboro, and sister: Margaret Jane Cheatham of Franklin, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Along with his parents Roy was preceded in death by brothers: Cecil Cathey and Archie Cathey.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 10, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Elsey officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are: Nick Cathey, Tyler Cordell, Tim Crunk Jr., Corey Crunk, Ian Crunk, Scott Burt, and Jerry Cook.
