Rosie Edith Masters, age 94 of Mt. Pleasant, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
Edith was born December 17, 1922 in Celina, Tennessee to John and Alma Daniels Dulworth. She married James Masters on December 31, 1973. She was a lifelong restaurateur who owned and operated Edith’s Café, Frosty Whip, and Edith’s Black Angus until she retired in the 1970’s. In her time away from working, she loved spending time in her gardens of flowers and vegetables. She will be remembered as a loving mother, and someone who helped those around her at all times. She attended The Tabernacle Church in Summertown.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 4:00 to 6:00PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home on Friday, January 20, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. with Ricky Pitts officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Edith is survived by her husband, James Masters; her children, Alice (Billy) Stockdale of Cumberland Furnace, Robert (Marie) Buchanan of Mt. Pleasant, Debbie (Buddy) Duke of Mt. Pleasant, Barbara (John) Carpenter of Franklin; stepdaughter, Judy (David) Shofner; grandchildren, Chad (Linda) Buchanan, Daniel Duke, Paula (David) Davis, Rosanna Candace Duke, Joseph Carpenter and Taylor Carpenter; five greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Gail (Jimmy) Collins; and her parents John and Alma Daniels Dulworth.
