Ronnie Wayne Powell

Ronnie W. Powell, age 59, peacefully passed away on July 6, 2024, in Columbia, TN. Born in Columbia, TN, to the late James Powell and Nolie Chatman, Ronnie leaves behind a devoted sister, Christy (Ryan) Marshall, a loving niece, Chelsea Jones, and a caring nephew, Bryan Cummins. He is also survived by his beloved mother, Cathy McNabb, and held dear by special friends Rhonda Green, Danetta Cloyd, Kyle Foster, and cherished family, Chris (Kelly) Jones. 

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, James Powell, his adoptive mother, Nolie Chatman, and his adoptive father, Thomas McNabb. 

Affectionately known as a "Hot Mess," Ronnie was an established member of Halls Chapel Church of Christ. His passion for music, particularly hymnals, reflected his deep love for singing. He also found great joy as a committed member of the Quickmart baseball team in Lawrenceburg, relishing every moment on the field. An avid enthusiast of food, Ronnie delighted in savoring hamburgers and dining out. His affinity for live music led him to frequent Puckett's, where he would immerse himself in the vibrant atmosphere. 

Every Sunday morning, Ronnie filled his home with the uplifting strains of gospel music, turning his radio up to the highest to start the day on a joyful note. His sweet tooth was well-known among friends and family, with ice cream and candy serving as his guilty pleasures any time of day. 

Ronnie W. Powell will be remembered fondly for his exuberance for life, his compassionate heart, and his infectious laughter. He made a profound impact on those around him and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. 

A funeral service to celebrate Ronnie's life will be held on Thursday, July 11th, 2024, at 11:00 am at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with Bro. Chris Bean officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10th, at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Ronnie will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery.
