Ronald E. Richardson

Ronald "Ronnie" Edward Richardson of Columbia, formerly of LaVergne, was born on June 26, 1947 in Waterville, ME to the late Charles Edward and Mildred Agnes Dionne Richardson. He was one of six children. On October 14, 1967, he married Barbara Jane Carter and they had four children together. He was the Vice-President of Transportation for Carter Hardware in Nashville, TN.

Ronnie loved hunting and fishing. His wife says that he was just a big kid who loved restoring his 1969 Plymouth Satellite, building toy trains and airplanes, NASCAR racing and playing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was proud of his service to our country and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Donelson, TN.

Mr. Richardson passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: Thomas Edward Rhonda Richardson of Murfreesboro, Sandra Lynn Jackie Holt of Gallatin, Christine Anne Richardson of Smyrna, Michael Alan Shannon Richardson of Nolensville; grandchildren: Nathaniel Wyatt Richardson, Trevor Harlan Richardson, Carter Edward Richardson, Jaxon Charles Holt, Luke James Holt, Parker Annlee Holt; sisters: Dianna William Knox and Trish Bruce Roderick; brothers: Steve Delane Richardson and Patrick Helen Richardson, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Garrett Reagan Richardson and Gunnar Robb Richardson and a brother, Daniel Richardson.

Funeral services for Ronnie will be conducted Saturday at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Pastor Steve Durham officiating.Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffen American Legion Post #19.

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home.
