Ronald Joe Shultz, age 76, passed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 15, 2020, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Ronald was born on July 6, 1943 to the late Joseph Clarence and Lula Mae Wynn Shultz Goodman in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. He was a member of Maury Hills Church in Columbia, Tennessee. He retired from UCAR after 42 years of service. He enjoyed collecting coins and fishing in Cypress Creek on the Tennessee River. He loved his family more than anything in the world and would remind them constantly that he loved them “bigger than the sky.” He also honorably served the United States in the Army as a paratrooper.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 54 years: Rebecca Hagood Shultz; son: Ronald Todd Shultz of Hampshire; daughter: Lisa Ann Shultz (Rickey) South of Columbia; grandchildren: Wesley Todd Shultz, Bethany Kay Shultz, Joseph Benton (Lindsey Hall) South, Amy Rebecca (Mitchell) Koski, and Mary Katherine South; great-granddaughter: Maddy Grace Shultz; sisters: Patricia (Mike) Walls and Judy Lee; half-brother: Geoff Goodman; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Larry Gean Shultz; daughter-in-law: Linda Kay Shultz; and brother-in-law: Bob Lee.
Services will be Monday, January 20, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home, Columbia with Russ Adcox officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Family will visit with friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2020.
Pallbearers are: Wesley Todd Shultz, Joseph Benton South, Mitchell Koski, Tommy Ring, Scott Arnold, and Keith Gray.
Honorary Pallbearers are Amber Falls friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to Maury Hills Church or charity of their choice.
