Roland Fletcher Lindsey, Sr.
March 31, 1915 — November 19, 2004
Mr. Roland Fletcher Lindsey, Sr., 89, a resident of Mt. Joy Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Friday at Life Care Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Lindsey will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2004, at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Tommy Hagewood officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Mote Baxter and Ida Boshers Lindsey and husband of Minnie Harris Lindsey. He was retired from the phosphate mining business and a farmer. He was a member of the Locust Street Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linnie Jerry York and Mary Lou J.C. Holt, both of Mt. Pleasant; a son Roland Fletcher Sara Lindsey, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; a step-daughter, Betty Terry Pullen of Columbia; a step-son, Anthony Wendy Davis of Mt. Pleasant; four grandsons, J.C. Susan Holt, Jr., Tim Lynn Holt, Fletcher Susie Lindsey and Jerry York, Jr., all of Mt. Pleasant; two granddaughters, Penny Buzz Floyd of Mt. Pleasant and Joy York of Nashville; a step-granddaughter, Dawn Brian Smith of Columbia; a step-brother, David Lindsey of Summertown; a step-sister, Virginia Lindsey Bourke of Los Altos, CA; seven great granddaughters and four great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Rachel Attkisson Lindsey; a grandson, John Henry Lindsey; step-mother, Susie Walker Lindsey and a step-brother, Leroy Lindsey.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and Anthony Davis.
