Mr. Roden C. Cravens, 71, resident of Wedgewood Drive in Columbia, died Monday, May 20, 2002, in Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Cravens will be conducted Thursday, May 23, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend Kent Barwick and Reverend Bob Wells officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Livingston, Tennessee native was the son of the late Albert and Ada Garrett Cravens. He was the husband of 50 Years to Mary Corene Bilbrey Cravens of Columbia. He was retired from Anderson Mattress Company in 1977. He served as a deacon for two Free Will Baptist churches in Anderson, Indiana and also sung in three gospel quartets. He was a member of the Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Columbia.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Helen Gary Huntzinger of Spring Hill, TN; a son, Jerry Robyn Cravens of Rockvale, TN; 4 Grandchildren, Barry Cynthia Huntzinger of Columbia, TN, Ryan Huntzinger of Spring Hill, TN, Joshua Cravens of Murfreesboro, TN, Victoria Andy Baker of Cookeville, TN; a sister, Nell Edward Carr of Anderson, IN; 2 brothers, Roy Freddie Cravens of McMinnville, TN and Hughey Cravens of Anderson, IN; Preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Cravens; 3 brothers, R.V. Cravens, Arlie Cravens, and Owen Cravens.

Pallbearers will be John Neely, Phillip Parrish, Buddy Creel, Tommy Stanfill, John Nuby, and Rulen Griggs. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
