Robert Lee R.L. Cummins

Mr. Robert Lee "R.L." Cummins, age 71, a resident of Enterprise Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 14, 1939, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Annie Naomi Prentice Cummins. R.L. was the husband of Shirley Nichols Cummins of Mt. Pleasant. He was a former employee of Stauffer Chemical Company and was a member of the Campbellsville Church of Christ. Mr. Cummins enjoyed gardening but the love of his life was his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Cummins is survived by three sons, Danny Marcia Cummins, Bob Kaye Cummins and Jamey Jackie Cummins all of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Betty Kersey of Mt. Pleasant, Gladys Ragsdale of Taylor, Michigan and Clara Baugus of Columbia; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Cummins will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 from the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Theodore Durham and Kelly Webb officiating. Interment will follow at the Spencer Hill Cemetery.

The Cummins Family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Daniel Cummins, Chad Cummins, Jerry McNeece, Larry McNeece, Glen Robinson, Jimmy Attkisson and Steve Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Brown, Richard Cothran, Ronnie Bell, Claude Brawner, Randy McNeece, David Kersey, W.C. Waldrop and Ron Burroughs.

Memorials may be made to the Spencer Hill Cemetery Fund.
