Robert L. "Bob" Harris

Mr. Robert L. "Bob" Harris, age 80, a resident of Morrow Lane in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, February 2 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Harris will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Steve Swango and Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born September 20, 1929 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Sam D. Harris and Nora Glenn Harris Rose and the husband of the late Ruby Dean Harden Harris. Mr. Harris worked for over 20 years with the Coca~Cola Plant, was a farmer raising cattle, a home builder, sold real estate for many years and ran the Jolly Boy Restaurant for many years, where he was known as "Jolly Robert". He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Columbia.

He is survived by his children: Wanda Blade and Kay Marion Hill, both of Columbia; son-in-law: Terry Beard of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren: Bethany Kay Eddlemon, Robert Lee Regina Hooks, Matthew Harris Hill, Halie Hill all of Columbia and Christopher Chase Beard of Lawrenceburg; great grandchildren: Morgan Lee Hooks, Savannah Marie Hill and Landon Harris Eddlemon, all of Columbia; brothers: Glenn Harris and Wendell Harris, both of Columbia; special niece: Paula Porter Alexander of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Lana Beard; sisters: Shirley Ann Harris, Frances Crumley, Alice Kelley and Minnie Westmoreland.

Pallbearers will be Mike Westmoreland, Dennis Scroggins, Steve Mangrum, Darren Lyle, Mike Littrell and Roger Kelley.
