Robert Eugene "Gene" Goodin

Mr. Robert Eugene ?Gene? Goodin, 77, a resident of South Bigby Drive in Columbia, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Goodin will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, February 2, 2006 at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Ricky Cotton officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Born in Elkmont, AL, he was the son of the late Martin Luther and Teara Emma Dugger Goodin and husband of Glenna Jones Goodin and the late Grace Louise Phillips Goodin. He was a computer analyst with Westinghouse Corporation, a US Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Cross Bridges Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Debra Jean Van Trump of Carrollton, GA and Denise Ann Dennis Kitzmiller of Duck River, TN; a son George Jones, Jr. of Boca Raton, FL; five grandchildren, Robert Van Trump of West Palm Beach, FL, Michael Van Trump of Riviera Beach, FL, Phillip Van Trump of Royal Oak, MI, Apryl Paul Roberts of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Alysha Kitzmiller of Duck River, TN; four great grandchildren, Erika Van Trump and Deana Van Trump of Texas, William Auburn Roberts and Addison Eugene Roberts of Tuscaloosa, AL.

Pallbearers include Dennis Kitzmiller, Michael Van Trump, Phillip Van Trump, Paul Roberts, Daniel Treat and Mike Walter.
