Mrs. Roberta Ecklund Larson passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Roberta was the born in Aitkin Village, Minnesota to the late Robert E. Ecklund and the late Betty Jean Westerlund Ecklund. She was the only girl to the family and only had three brothers.
Mrs. Larson was married to Michael Wells Larson for twenty seven years until he passed away. They raised two beloved children, who remember their mother as full of unconditional love. She always put others above herself, giving of herself even though she might have needed to take instead. She was a loyal friend with a heart of gold. She loved working at Rosewood Manor and Behavioral Health Care of Columbia, especially cutting up with the residents. She was the employee of the year and very dedicated.
She loved working in her flower beds and being outdoors. However, her greatest love was her grandchildren.
Mrs. Roberta is survived by her children: Jennifer (Jeremy) Larson-Hamilton and Chris Larson; grandchildren: Hailey Grace Larson and Gavin Kaizer Harrington; and brothers: Dennis Ecklund and Donnie (Sandy) Ecklund. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her brother: Gary Ecklund and her sister-in-law: Dana Ecklund.
The family will visit with friends at Williams Funeral Home, 109 Blythewood Drive on Sunday, September 30 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. They will visit with friends in Minnesota on Wednesday, October 3, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Minneapolis, MN. Mrs. Larson will be interred with her husband Michael at the National Cemetery at Fort Snelling on Thursday, October 4.
